DRESS CODE/FITTING GUIDE
Movin' Easy has found that Our So Danca leotards to run more or less true to size, but on the smaller end.
We recommend sizing up if your dancer is on the cusp between two sizes or if they are tall for their age.
For example, a dancer who wears a size 5 or 6 will likely fit the Intermediate (6x-7) size better than the Small (4-6) size.
A dancer whose waist measurements are within a Medium (8-10) but who is tall for their age may be most comfortable in the size Large (12-14).
Dancers wearing pre-teen sizes may be able to choose between the Large (12-14), Youth Junior (YJR), or Adult Petite. The difference between the Large and Junior sizes in the children's leotard and the Petite size in the adult leotard is primarily in the cut of the leotard. Children's leotards have a more square shape in the torso while Adult leotards are designed with more of an hourglass shape.
The ideal fit for a leotard should be similar to a swimsuit. Leotards are made to stretch and fit snugly without the straps digging into the shoulders and without the leg or arm holes restricting movement in any way. If the straps are slipping off of the shoulders or the arm or leg holes are gapping, the leotard is too big.
Leotards may be fit with growing room as long as the straps, neckline, and bottom of the leotard still stay in place while the dancer is moving.
